2020 SPORTYS Award - Sponsorship Activation of the Year Award 


 The 2020 SPORTYS: Greater Orlando’s Night of Champions will air commercial-free on WKMG-TV News6 on Saturday, August 29 at 5:00 p.m. EST. The SPORTYS  will honor sports business professionals whose contributions and impact are vital in making Greater Orlando one of the country’s premier sports destinations. Congratulations to the Orlando Sports Foundation and Cure Bowl team for being nominated for the Sponsorship Activation of the Year Award  for the as The  FBC Mortgage  March 2 Cure presented by  Lincoln Properties.

After a six-year hiatus, the Greater #Orlando #Sports Commission has announced the return of the SPORTYS. The 2020 SPORTYS: Greater Orlando’s Night of Champions will air commercial-free on WKMG-TV News6 on Saturday, August 29 at 5:00 p.m. EST. The SPORTYS  will honor sports business professionals whose contributions and impact are vital in making Greater Orlando one of the country’s premier sports destinations. Congratulations to Alan Gooch - executive of the year finalist.

Alan was a featured panelist on the August 2020 sports industry virtual community panel, entitled Between Innings. 



EIGHT CURE BOWL ALUMNI SELECTED IN THE NFL DRAFT


The NFL Draft saw eight Cure Bowl alumni hear their names called over the three-day virtual event. Louisiana had a school-record three players drafted, including OT Robert Hunt selected in the second round by the Miami Dolphins on Friday.  Learn More

2019 FBC Mortage Cure Bowl 


The Orlando Sports Foundation announced at a press conference Wednesday that the 2019 Cure Bowl will be played at Exploria Stadium. The Cure Bowl will be the first non-soccer sporting event to take place at Orlando City Stadium, since its opening in March 2017. Kickoff for the fifth-annual Cure Bowl will be December 21, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

2018 AutoNation Cure Bowl 


The AutoNation Cure Bowl is more than a game. Played on the third Saturday in December each year at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, this NCAA college football bowl game is televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. Funds raised from the AutoNation Cure Bowl directly benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This bowl game has helped to put Orlando at the center of some of the world’s greatest advancements in cancer science. Since 2015, the bowl has raised a collective $3.55 million. Almost $1 million of the funds raised have gone to Dr. Annette Khaled, professor at the UCF College of Medicine’s Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences and head of the medical school’s cancer research division.

Sun Belt Conference Media Day 


July 2018 (New Orleans) Sun Belt Conference Football Media Day featured unprecedented live coverage with an ESPN3 broadcast from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and all press conferences on YouTube and SunBeltSports.org throughout the entirety of the event.  On Monday, July 23 Commissioner Karl Benson delivered his “State of the Conference” address. The two-hour ESPN3 telecast, hosted by Matt Stewart and John Gregory,


 Attending Conference USA Media Kickoff


July  2018 (Frisco, Texas)  Conference USA’s 2018 Football Media Kickoff took place on Wednesday-Thursday, July 18-19, in Frisco, Texas.  The league’s head coaches and two student-athletes from each school will be on hand to preview the upcoming season.  C-USA followers enjoyed significant coverage of the event, including live streaming of player and coach interviews each day on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.  Here is a look at the players who attended.

2017 AutoNation Cure Bowl


Looking back on 2017 AutoNation Cure Bowl, this pre-game shot illustrates well how the Central Florida community has rallied around the Orlando Sports Foundation, whose mission it is to bring teams together to find a cure for cancer. All funds raised through the game and ancillary events are donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
